Another radical shift in the cosmos takes place on April 14th as Mars speeds out of Aquarius and dives right into Pisces. Mars is the planet of action, anger, aggression, courage, fight, sex drive, and of course, war. In watery Pisces, he is working through the lens of the mutable water sign’s ability to see all sides of things.
In terms of the way this affects our actions, how we feel is actually the top priority. We may notice when we are exhausted easier and require extra rest in order to get more done later. This isn’t a bad thing if you are willing to be patient with yourself. Under the Aries Sun, patience may run thin but between Mercury in Taurus and the Pisces stellium forming in the sky- we really have no other option but to slow down.
Water energy is deeply psychic and with so many planets currently hanging around in Pisces (including Venus, as well as Pisces’ planetary rulers Jupiter and Neptune) we are highly susceptible to taking on other people’s pain or carrying their emotional burden.
It is extremely important now to maintain firm boundaries!
Piscean energy is boundless and compassionate. Much like sister sign Virgo, Pisces tend to overextend themselves in order to “help” others. Aim to reach balance between helping yourself as well as those you care about and knowing when something isn’t yours to carry. We should be mindful of emotional martyrdom as a means of control. People are within their right to establish their own boundaries with you as well.
On the plus side, we have the ability to make great strides acting from our intuition and can find magic so long as we believe that magic is real. There is greater potential to reach understanding and forgiveness with Pisces curbing our aggression and lending empathy to all situations. We also have an opportunity to transmute our angry aggressive feelings into creative masterpieces.
Mars in Pisces dictates that we should go with the flow of things. Pisces ability to wash away and dissolve stagnancy is rooted in the same principle of creating space for potential blessings. It may not always be clear where you are going, but trust in the universe and your own intuition in guiding the way.
This transit kicks off the same day the Moon moves to Libra where the next Full Moon takes place on April 16th.
The Moon in astrology rules over our emotional drivers which motivate our actions and reactions subconsciously, as well as how we nurture ourselves through our daily habits. In Venus-ruled Libra, we may find ourselves seeking harmony- even at the expense of our own wants, needs, and desires.
Full Moons occur when the Sun is in exact opposition to the Moon. The Sun represents our ego, expression, and will. Under the influence of Aries, we are inspired to stand up for ourselves in a way that is completely at odds with Libra’s desire for peace.
Aries doesn’t stand for the needs of the group if they are at odds with their own personal needs. They care more about honesty and integrity than pleasing other people. We may find our own will and expression at odds with our emotional drivers at this time.
All of the Sun’s light shines on the Moon revealing her fullest form. Full Moons tend to be energetically high and illuminating for this reason. There’s a reason they call them “lunatics” after all.
Over the course of the next few days, we may discover hidden truths or actualize any suppressed emotions we haven’t been dealing with.
The Aries Sun invokes courageous, trailblazing action rooted in fulfilling our own needs and desires. The Libra Moon asks us to balance the needs of others with our own and consider ways we can create a better structure to accommodate everybody. This Full Moon can highlight where imbalance exists within our lives, particularly within our relationships.
Since Aries’ ruler Mars is currently in Pisces alongside Libra’s ruler Venus, there is an extreme Piscean element to this particular lunation. This adds an extra element of absolution to the act of releasing which Full Moons ask of us.
All Full Moons are endings as they mark the end of a lunar cycle.
This Full Moon is asking us to achieve true harmony by finding compromise without sacrificing ourselves. There may be certain behaviors, situations, or people you’ve been engaging with that do not truly lead to peace within yourself that you are being asked to observe and release at this time.
With Pluto in Capricorn forming a tense square to the Libra Full Moon, we may discover what these unfulfilling behaviors are via some sort of trigger. Pluto’s function is to get out the rot and has been asking this of us since Venus’ retrograde through Capricorn that took place from December 18th through January 29th.
If you haven’t established firm expectations and boundaries within your relationships, this transit is a perfect time to hone in on exactly what that means to you.
Pluto tends to harbor some heavy energy when getting involved with our personal intricacies of the day-to-day. Full Moons are exhausting in the first place without the harbinger of death and destruction coloring it with emotional upheaval. Be sure to be kind to yourself (and others!) as we purge out what doesn’t serve us and clear out the imbalance which blocks us from accessing our inner power.
Utilize all this Cardinal energy to start something new by leaving behind self-sabotage. Aries desires true, honest expression no matter the cost, and Libra craves balance and consideration for everybody’s feelings. Capricorn’s influence here insists there is a “better way” and ultimately the true answer lies somewhere in the middle.
Harmony isn’t easily achieved but this Full Moon in Libra is here to help us settle once and for all exactly how close we can get.
