This first week of Aries season arrived with Mercury trailing behind in soft, sleepy Pisces. Now Mercury is speeding up to make up for lost time! Full speed ahead!
Mercury has been on quite the journey through the few weeks. During their stay in Pisces, we may have felt our minds submerged in the depths of our feelings. Pisces is a highly sensitive and psychic sign.
Under the Piscean influence, Mercury finds itself in murky waters. We may have found difficulty in reaching or speaking with clarity. We have heightened sensitivity and are open to receiving cosmic wisdom in the forms of music, synchronicities, songs, symbols, and most importantly dreams.
Pisces is rather indirect so it may take some decoding before finding any sort of objective truth. This is a highly imaginative, dreamy state of mind in which we can easily project our most idealistic fantasies into reality.
Towards the end of Mercury’s stay in Pisces, the messenger planet conjoined with each of Pisces’ planetary rulers Jupiter on March 21st and co-ruler Neptune on March 23rd.
Jupiter rules over good fortune, expansion, growth, our faith, or where we find deeper meaning in life. Neptune governs over transcendence, dreams, illusions, inspiration, intuition, and imagination.
Each of these blending off energies offered a sense of expansion on an idea or dream we’ve been ruminating over. There is abundant optimism and eagerness to transcend the boundaries of where our dream world and reality meet. This is a positive time to utilize our imagination and exercise our creativity as well networking towards a shared purpose within your circle.
The nature of Neptune is elusive and while conjunct Mercury our outlook is seen through the lens of rose-colored glasses. Without hard work to back it up however this can only last for so long.
Shortly after on March 26th, Mercury formed a supportive aspect known as a sextile to Pluto. Pluto governs over transformation, power, death, rebirth, upheaval, and survival.
The sextile Mercury made in its final legs of Pisces asks us to step into our power and make the big moves by believing further in ourselves. This transit inspires magnetism and charisma as well as intensity of thought.
Anything that is unaligned to you will fall away when Pluto is involved. We are making space for the new beginning that exists when the cycle starts again in Aries.
On March 27th, Mercury moves forward in the sign of Aries.
With Mars-ruled Aries driving our communication centers we may be slightly more prone to making snap judgments, opinions, or decisions. We are feeling READY to tackle every obstacle with firm determination and utilize our instinct to lead us alongside our intuition.
Aries the Ram is quick-witted, brutally honest, focused, and decisive. They desire conversations led with pure honesty and always say exactly what they are thinking. Aries is a fire sign and the trailblazers of the zodiac. This energy lights a fire under Mercury, making its way along to catch up to the Sun.
We are feeling inspired to set out on the new beginning that the Spring Equinox promises!
Mercury in Aries acts as the lens through which we see a bright, new beautiful world full of endless adventure. There is a wealth of opportunity now to take our most original abstract thoughts and set them firm in reality through our actions.
We will find ease in initiating our new ideas but may be faced with challenges in completing them. Due to Aries fast-paced nature and dislike of staying in one spot for too long, we may find struggle with consistency or follow through. Aries is better suited to be giving the directions vs actually carrying them out.
Aries can be headstrong or even egotistical at times, seeing things from an extremely personal point of view and allowing little room for opposing arguments. With this influencing our minds we may encounter heated debates or arguments. It is extremely important for us to speak our truth now and that may not be easy for everyone to digest. It may be challenging for us to stand down during Mercury in Aries but it is imperative to allow for grace towards any opposition you may face at this time! Tempers may flare but we must try to contain ourselves before saying anything we can't take back.
This is a transit that requires us to speak clearly, concisely, and directly while keeping things simple and to the point.
Under the influence of Aries, Mercury speeds up to meet with the Sun right around the New Moon which takes place in the early hours of April 1st. New Moons are new beginnings and this one is the most potent new beginning of the year!
When a planet is so close to the Sun, it is called a cazimi which means “under the Sun’s beams”. Mercury makes this aspect to the Sun alongside the asteroid Chiron on April 2nd. Chiron is the wounded healer in astrology and where we find this asteroid we find an opportunity to address some deeply rooted pain or patterns that need healing.
Under the Sun’s beams, we can find deep revelations about ourselves in regards to our personal toxicity or find where we need to heal from the toxicity we’ve experienced. This moment may be sobering but is necessary in order to recover from where we’ve been.
As Mercury speeds up to pass by the Sun, they encounter Saturn and Mars in Aquarius on April 7th and 8th respectively through a harmonious aspect known as a sextile.
We are supported by these malefic planets to forge through any obstacles blocking our path. We can easily access critical thinking in facing challenges and are able to persevere with stamina and willpower to see our task through so long as we keep a positive attitude.
Right as Mercury’s transit through Aries ends there is one final showdown between Mercury and Pluto as they square off in an aspect of tension.
Pluto has been the heavy hitter to end all of the recent planetary transitions with a BANG and this one is certainly no exception.
When Mercury and Pluto meet in a square it can ignite a wave of intensity in our thinking. We may desire unearthing of all things kept hidden despite any repercussions we may face. This aspect can invoke sensitivity in us individually as it can be challenging to not take things personally under this influence.
If we can remain open-minded there is an opportunity to find the “root” of a problem but only with objectivity and an ability to take personal accountability!
On April 10th, Mercury shifts gears as Taurus takes reign of the messenger planet. This may feel like everything coming to a screeching halt after the fast-paced tempo of Mercury in Aries.
Taurus is Earth energy, slow-moving because it takes its time to nurture as it works intentionally towards its goals. If Aries is where we plant the seed, Taurus is where our intentions start to bud and bloom.
We cannot rush the process of a seed as it begins to take root and form into its fullest form. Mercury in Taurus will help us slow down and smell the flowers, to take things one step at a time in order to get things done, and most importantly balance hard work with equal parts reward.
