On Friday, March 18th the Pisces Sun illuminates the Moon in Virgo to its fullest form. This full moon brings matters related to health and our healing to the forefront of our attention.
During Pisces season the Sun has met with its traditional planetary ruler Jupiter ♃ and modern co-ruler Neptune ♆. Jupiter has been hanging around in Pisces from December 21, 2021, through May 11, 2022.
Jupiter’s nature is to expand, foster growth, and shape our general philosophy. It is the planet of luck and opportunity, the great benefactor and bestower of divine wisdom.
In the sign of Pisces, Jupiter transcends all barriers and observes the world with boundless optimism. This can lead to overestimating our ability to make the impossible happen. Our intuition is heightened but our overall sense of the big picture is colored with rose-color lenses.
At its best Jupiter in Pisces is higher-minded, compassionate, inspires awareness of our community, and opens us spiritually. At its worst, this transit can lend to excess, indulgent behavior, moral ambiguity, unwillingness to see things as they are, or inability address to problems directly.
Neptune governs over our transcendence, dreams, illusions, inspiration, and imagination. As a generational planet we primarily feel its influence through the house it sits in our personal charts as well as through aspects made to closer planetary bodies such as the luminaries (Sun + Moon) or Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.
When a planet meets with the Sun, the Sun’s beams light up the function of the planet with intensity. When the Pisces Sun blends with the energies of Jupiter and Neptune, it can lead to a spark of inspiration directly from our higher selves and the collective unconscious. This time is abundant with endless creative potential and ease into transcendence.
Jupiter blesses us with opportunity and an expansive mindset.
Neptune’s presence adds to Jupiter’s overall exuberant behavior by rolling in the fog. All that glitters is gold under this celestial influence. We are predisposed to overconfidence in our beliefs, bearing strength in our convictions, and being overzealous in our indulgences. We may have to work a bit harder to remain grounded at this time.
Pisces season is all about feeling it out, going with the flow, and finding your own way through your intuition. As the Sun finds its way inching towards Aries and the Spring Equinox on March 20th, we may begin to feel the fog lift and find a bit more clarity.
The Full Moon in Virgo is offering a bit of sober reality to us.
Full Moons occur when the Moon is exactly opposite the Sun so the Sun’s light reveals the Moon’s fullest form. This Full Moon will be exact March 18th, around 3 AM EST. The influence of this energy is felt 3 days prior as well as 3 days after this exact date.
Full Moons always take place in opposite signs, the Virgo: Pisces dynamic addresses our physical health vs our spiritual health.
Virgo concerns itself with precision, practicality, being of service to others in a tangible way and self improvement.
Pisces concerns itself with an idealized reality, interconnectivity of all things, flowing with their feelings and self reflection.
These signs each are driven to help other people though their methods and motivation are entirely divergent of one another.
On a personal level, this can manifest as observing where your personal habits conflict with your idealized version of life or seeing where certain behaviors, mindsets, or even people are no longer aligned to your bigger vision. Full Moons are energetic peaks in a lunar cycle that often coincide with deep revelations, endings, shifts, or climaxes.
This energy can leave us feeling hypersensitive, hyperaware, on edge, exhausted, and even at times unable to sleep.
With Virgo running the ship we may find ourselves snapping out of a daydream state and turning focus on how we can take actual pragmatic steps towards our healing. This is a time where we can assess where toxicity exists in our lives and be rid of it entirely- but it only starts where you are willing to be realistic with yourself and your circumstances.
The most important thing to remember under a Full Moon’s energy is the principle of balance. At the end of the day, a Full Moon transit is merely an opposition in the sky which we can balance by observing both ends of it.
My Virgo Moon roommate has been saying lately “the dose makes the poison”, which is entirely fitting under any Pisces transit but especially after the last few weeks with the Pisces Sun meeting with Jupiter and Neptune. You may find yourself with a bit too much on your plate now and this Full Moon is here to remind you that is not sustainable for your overall well-being!
We may all feel the divine power and higher-mindedness that Pisces season has to offer but at the end of the day, we are only human! Take time to ground in your body, stretch it out, eat fruit + vegetables, and be mindful of what you’re consuming in all forms. There’s no harm in indulging in little joys that make life a little more fun but balancing it by prioritizing our physical, mental, and spiritual health is key under the light of this Virgo Full Moon.
