Yes, Venus retrograde has officially ended!
For the past 6 weeks the planet of love, exchange, worth, value, and aesthetics has found her way back from 26º Capricorn to 11º Capricorn. During this time, we may have found that the Venusian areas of our lives were under review.
When this transit started we may have been a bit resistant to the idea of change, but through the course of time, we have made deep revelations. These breakthroughs have circled around finding ease in letting go of what doesn’t align with who we are becoming.
Capricorn energy is concerned with sustainability, optimization, setting out to achieve accomplishments methodically and efficiently, return on investment, and climbing to the highest high our ambitions can reach.
During this retrograde transit, we have had these objectives framing the way we look at our relationships, the way we spend our money or invest our resources (such as time and energy), as well the way we love ourselves and others alike.
Now that Venus is direct, we will find more ease in forming strong foundations for ourselves around these areas. Any difficulty we’ve encountered over the course of this transit has tested us in a way that has made us stronger, more grounded, and more resilient. As Venus continues now back over the course of degrees she retrograded through, we will have another opportunity to address these challenges once more. Now with the added perspective of having been in this position before. Remember that where retrograde energy asks us to review and reconsider, as Venus redirects, there is an opportunity to redo and make adjustments as needed. This is known as the shadow period, which is when a planet goes over the degrees the retrograde transit took place in for the third and final time.
Venus and Mars from this point on will continue to tango for the better part of the next three months. This alignment of the heart married with action will help us make great strides wherever we choose to commit under the influence of Capricorn. As Venus and Mars move through Capricorn, eventually they will catch up to generational planet Pluto at 27º on March 2nd.
This transit occurs as soon as Venus enters unknown territory, beyond the shadow of her retrograde.
Where inner planets meet Pluto, harbinger of death, rebirth, destruction and transformation, we will find a great whirlwind of change. This can simply be the spark that initiates a change found in the form of shadow or inner child work.
With the Plutonian influence, we may be confronted with situations that present an opportunity to analyze our own toxic behaviors or find the source of patterns that keep us from breaking away from our conditioning.
Under retrograde transits, we are encouraged to look back to move forward. During these next few weeks, while Venus finalizes over the details in earthy Capricorn, I encourage you to look to your roots as a source of your trigger responses.
Something I learned during this Venus Retrograde was this idea that our inner child is always talking to us via the way we respond to our triggers.
I personally had a breakdown in a pretty close personal relationship through this transit. I found myself unable to reach understanding by following the idea that “they didn’t care”. Because to me, the most triggering thing in the world is someone I care deeply about not caring about me in a mutual way. Once I was able to create distance from this narrative, which is an echo of something that happened long before this miscommunication, we were better able to come to a mutual understanding.
This is the power of Pluto where it reaches the deepest corners of our hearts and our minds. We may have to clear out a lot of cobwebs to create space for healing. It might not always be pretty or easy to see, but it is necessary in working towards breaking out of self-limiting beliefs.
The conjunction Mercury made to Pluto on January 28th is another opportunity to address clearing out any dead weight in our line of thinking. Where Pluto is involved, there are likely to be power struggles, displays of projection, and triggers to point back onto us. This happens within ourselves where we need to unroot conditioning that fuels self-sabotage. Mercury, under Pluto’s influence, reflects themes of addressing our personal shadow, self-analysis, spiritual work, connecting to our inner source of power, and seeing things as they are vs how you’d like them to be.
This aspect will occur once more on February 11th, meaning if whatever comes up at this time isn’t addressed now, you certainly will have another opportunity to work through it then. Mercury retrograde inspires us to turn within in order to process carefully, review and reflect. If you are experiencing breakdowns in communication, now is the perfect time to stop and nurture your feelings.
The Moon connects with all the inner planets in Capricorn over the course of the next few days, building up to the new moon in Aquarius on January 31st. As we move closer to the dark moon phase there is an opportunity to release any lingering emotions in relation to shadow work. This has been a central theme all through the ongoing Capricorn retrograde transits.
During this time I encourage you all to look within and think about the ways your inner child talks to you. Whenever you’re feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or at odds, try to recognize the source of how you’re responding or reacting to outside forces with a loving detachment. One of the large Venus Retrograde themes I notice is looking at how we proactively nurture ourselves and the sustainability of those behaviors.
Think about the ways you want to show up for yourself during this time prior to the new moon. Do away with the pieces of yourself that have been holding you back from simply doing it.
Right now Capricorn is driving our mind, heart, and action which acts as a massive opportunity to reach our loftiest ambition. Under the Aquarius Sun, anything is possible! With Venus’ direct motion we are being given a green light from the universe, as Mercury is not far behind. Soon all the planets will be in direct motion!
